Bank Register shows a different ballance at the top of the window than it shows in the detail below. When I drill down, it confirms the window's balance in detail. My balance sheet shows still another balance. Any help?

Sounds like a date range issue. The check register will only show the detail balance to the end of the date range. The top figure is the actual account balance. In other words you have a check dated in the future. Try changing the "To:" date to the end of this year and see if the check(s) shows up. Since the balance sheets report to a specific date the same thing applies.

Thanks Dan R. Your solution led to both an answer and another question. I had a $2000 deposit that was dated 11.05.05 but posted as if it was 11.05.06. When you look at the deposit, the non-changable date was 06 and the changable date was 05. I just deleted it and re-entered it and that solved, but I'm scratching my head as to how that happened. Thanks.

Make sure you have "Warn Before Recoring Post-Dated Transactions" turned on (Preferences / Security) You can still post dat if needed but it will give you a warning.

Thanks again, Dan. I have that warning, but it's funny. Today is April 21st. When I check my system date it agrees. But when I post my first check for today, MYOB warns me that I'm trying to post a postdated check. After the first on, it's okay. Any ideas?

I can't tell from your posts if you are on Win or Mac but either way my only 2 guesses here are: 1> make sure the time zone is set right on your system. 2> optimize your file (try twice in a row) & then re-verify.
If you still get a post dated warning for a check written "today" contact support (MYOB101?) 'cause that is weird.

Similar problem, but balance at top is correct and balance at bottom is wrong. Believe I messed up closing accounts in prior years. How correct without changing correct balance at top?
