My invoices do not automatically go to the next number even though the field is entered as "auto #". Any help is appreciated.

did you at one point ever delete an invoice? If so, there may be a gab in the numbering system. If the system is reverting back to the same number each time, it may be the next available invoice # which will be the number the system will automatically go to.
What version are you on?
