I need to create a 12 month Detailed P&L from 10/1/08 to 10/31/09 and I cannot get a report to work in that time frame. How can I create a report that would go from 10/1/08 to 10/31/09?

Easiest way is to build the report in Excel. Do a 10.1.08 - 12.31.08 Multi-Period P&L (Send To Excel) and a 1.1.9 - 10.31.09 MP P&L (Send to Excel) and copy and paste them together.. re-sum the total column.
FYI - the dates you gave would be a 13 month report.

Another trick to get a 12 month with a weird span is first make a copy of your books.myo file (rename it, move it elsewhere, etc to be sure you are using the COPY as you are going to throw it away when you are done)
Open the copy and choose Start a new fiscal year... but change the year to be the same year (2009?) then change "The Last month of the New Fiscal Year to be the final month of the report you want (Oct?) and continue through all the step and let it process. You would now be able to get a 11/1/08 to 10/31/09 Multi-Period P&L report.
