I've been having a problem closing out 2007. I got online to see if I could find anything in the MYOB faqs. The most recent entry was from Ellyn98370 who also was having a problem...a different one, but I was hopeful when I saw it. My problem is when you're at the screen that states "Fiscal Year Just Completed" and the line under asks for "New Fiscal Year". It states that the year just completed is 2006! If you try to put in 2008 for new fiscal year, it states that you cannnot advance more than 12 months. I'm not sure where to go from here. Has anyone had a similar problem? I can't end 2007 to start 2008.

Since it states "fiscal year just completed" as 2006 then you must not have started a new fiscal for 2007. MYOB can only move up one year at a time.

Please remember that starting a new fiscal year in MYOB is NOT something that has to be done because we are now in that year. It is only to be done when you are completely through with any entries and adjustments for the previous fiscal year(s).

If you are done with 2006 Make a back up of the books and name it "2006 Fiscal.myo.(sit/zip)" then start your new fiscal year and enter 2007 as the new fiscal year.

When done... Stop... Think.. Have I finished with any and all adjustments that would need to be dated in 2007.. If you have outside accountants who gives you EOY adjustments ask them first.....

Make a backup of the books and call it "2007 Fiscal.myo.(sit/zip)" and then start your new fiscal year and this time it will go to 2008.
