I have exported my balance sheet to excel and matched the account's figures, however the Current Year Earnings header can't be General Journaled to. How do I handle this?

The account "Current Year Earnings" is a compilation. It represents your profit or loss. The only way that account get affected is by making entries to your, sales, cost of sales, expenses, other income or other expense accounts.
