Help! I am trying to delete old invoices from 2001, 2002, etc. in MYOB Version 9, Acct Plus. We just want to get rid of these so they do not keep showing up on our aging reports and summaries. We do NOT check the "Transactions CAN'T be changed. They must be reversed." function in the Security section of Preferences. But, the system will not let me delete an invoice, it will only let me Reverse Transaction, which issues a credit. And then I have to change the date because when I click Record Reversal it tells me "You may not enter transactions before the beginning of your fiscal year." Any thoughts/suggestions are welcome. I do not even know if the company got paid for these or not, since I can't find the records going back that far.

Because you have started a new fiscal year you are not going to be able to fix these "back" in the prior fiscal year. There are a few ways of getting rid of them (I'm not remembering the steps right now but you already described one) and they all will need to be dated in this fiscal year. You can date them to the first day of the current fiscal year and add them all up so you have a total figure. This total can be used for a journal entry to get them out of income (again dated to the first of your current fiscal year) but it will depend on what they were to begin with and how you got them closed as to what accounts to use in the journal entry.
