It stinks like smelly gym socks to have to re-launch MYOB AccountEdge 2008 for Mac in order to get the invoice date to update.
I know I can manually enter it, but that is a pain as well.
Does anybody else's date "stick" to the date when the application was last opened? Any work around ?

I believe this is a "feature" and not a bug. I assume it's because we all should be quitting the program at the end of the business day to verify the file and make a backup.

Does the date not remain changed once you change it once? That is, if you boot MYOB on July 1 and then enter invoices on July 2, the invoice wil auto-enter July as the date. If you change that date manually to July 2, all subsequent invoices should auto-enter July 2.

Same goes for other form and entries, but it doesn't carry over to different types. Change the date on an invoice and you still have to change the date on the first deposit entry, or check entry, or PO entry, etc.

When the file is opened it sets the auto date to the date that the computer is on. It does this so that it is not completely reliant on the system date which would slow down performance.
