I have done this in the past but now it seems not to work. I am trying to import info, (customer cards, sales, purchases) from my previous file into a new file that I created. I set up my accounts, imported my items but after exporting the "service sales" during 2007 from my old file, I get the error "customer not found, sale not imported" when I try to import into new file. The customers all show in my card file. Whats wrong?

Try removing the last field on the import file - the record-id. This usually solves the problem

I got the same error msg. I am using premier. I removed the rec ID from my notepad file, still the error message -250, customer not found. I selected Identify customer by card ID by default.

The Card ID and Record ID are datafile specific, please select to match via Name/Co. and de-select the Card ID and Record ID from the Importing Screen and this should allow the transactions.

I change the default by Co/Name, error -250 customer not found was also given. Either way, i couldnt import my receipts specific to customer. What else could trigger the error?

Did you make sure to de-select the Card ID field?

How did you create the import file? Did you do an export from MYOB 'match all' fields then import this file as a match all. It almost sounds like you are importing sales instead of cards, because of course 'cards would not be found' if you are creating a new card file.

Might be worth exporting your customers from both files, open them both in Excel and look to see if there are any differences especially in the last/co field. As previously mentioned, make sure you are importing against co/last name and not record ID.
