I want to get AccountEdge 2008, but the only conversion assistants handle up to quickbooks 2006. Any other options?

I'm trying to convert my Quickbooks 2005/06 (PC)company file to MYOB AccountEdge 7 (Mac).

I can't find anything that supports QuickBooks after 2005. Do you know of something that supports 2006?

I can't help you but maybe you can help me.

This topic was edited due to content that our monitors feel was not in the spirit of the MYOB Discussion Forum.

Incidentally, we are working on a guide for those who want to convert their files from QuickBooks to AccountEdge 2008. This guide will be posted to our website in the coming week(s).

"a guide for those who want to convert their files from QuickBooks to AccountEdge 2008"

Well, what became of it? I'm attempting to convert from QuickBooks 2009 to AccountEdge and am not only finding it very difficult, but almost completely undocumented.

the lack of response to the last question does not bode well but I will ask anyway..... CAN YOU OR CAN YOU NOT CONVERT A QUICKBOOKS FILE TO MYOB .. IF SO HOW.

Considering that it took me 6-7 hours to layout the basic requirements of my invoice template I am guessing that file conversion may be beyond the MYOB programmer's capabilities. I look forward to being proven wrong.

Incidently - it is incredibly rude not to respond to a customer's simple question and shows the apparent contempt the hired help has for its customers. I believe you owe BH an apology

Hi Scrabble,

A couple points...

(1) Sorry for the delayed response to Bryan's posting. A point of clarification: this board is not for our employees to moderate. It's for users to help users. The appropriate means for customer service or tech support questions is really to call into the call center where you'll get much quicker response times... We definitely try to "monitor" it, but that's not the purposed of the forum...

(2) Re: the conversion of a QuickBooks file to an AccountEdge file. First, we love this question because we're potentially getting a new customer. Smile Second, we are acutely aware that we could do a better job of data conversion and have been working behind the scenes at options. The simple fact is that converting the data between programs (this is true for most/all accounting systems) is just hard, manual work. Still, we're working on a third-party solution that will hopefully address some of your needs... We hope to have more news in the coming weeks...

To adjust expectations: any conversion tool/service would most likely convert "header" information (ie customers, vendors, items, etc), balances, and open items (ie receivables). It's not realistic to convert transaction history (again, goes for all/most accounting systems). We recommend you use your old QB file as a filing cabinet - many people think they will need their QB data more than they actually do. There are also a host of good accounting reasons for not bringing this data forward from QuickBooks - we have a different level of financial integrity/controls in the software...

Thanks for your patience...
